Vehicle theft is one of the most widespread criminal activities. Every year, hundreds of thousands are stolen in Europe, anda few million worldwide.
This is because for an experienced criminal, car theft is a simple affair. Vehicles are stolenmainly for spare parts, or organised gangs export them to neighbouring countries. As such, it is almost impossible to trace them.
A reliable means to prevent vehicle theft is a mechanicalgear lever lock, which locks the moving parts of the gear mechanism.
It is locked in reverse (for manual transmission) or in the parking position (for automatic transmission), and as a result it is impossible to drive off in the vehicle.
Mechanical anti-theft device Construct (hereafter “product”) is made by CONSTRUCT A&D, a.s., IČ: 26233177, located at Františkov 220, Velké Meziříčí, Postcode 594 01 (hereafter “manufacturer“).
Operating instructions for the CONTRUCT mechanical anti-theft device:
To lock put the gear stick into reverse ‘R’ (for vehicles with manual transmission) or parking ‘P’ (for vehicles with automatic transmission), fully insert the key into the cylinder lock, turn the key 180° as far as it will go and remove the key.
To unlock fully insert the key into the cylinder lock, turn the key 180° as far as it will go and remove the key. For safety reasons, never leave the key inserted in the cylinder lock when driving.

To unlock or lock the Construct device, simply turn the key in the cylinder lock, which is the only piece to go into the vehicle interior.
The Construct anti-theft device involves just one single payment when you purchase it. No further fees are required to keep it into operation.
The cylinder lock prevents accidental locking and is resistant to drilling, breaking and lock picking tools. The device is resistant to heat and chemical effects, including liquid nitrogen. Access difficulty significantly complicates any attempts at tampering with it.
The manufacturer provides two-year warranty after date of assembly in the vehicle. The assembly date must be stated in the Warranty and Service Book. Upon compliance with the condition of annual checks, which are endorsed in the Warranty and Service Book, the warranty period may be extended up to 5 years date of assembly in the vehicle.
The validity of the warranty is conditional to use of the product to the stipulated purposes and compliance with the conditions stipulated by the manufacturer.
Obvious product defects must be claimed by the customer on the date of assembly directly at the assembly organisation. The manufacturer is not liable for obvious defects not claimed by the customer in this manner.
The warranty does not attach defects caused by unprofessional or incorrect assembly in the vehicle.
The warranty does not apply to defects due to incorrect operation or unprofessional interference.
Eventual claims in respect of the product within the given period are submitted by the customer through the assembly organisations or directly to the manufacturer. The buyer is obliged to report a defect (submit a claim) to the manufacturer without undue delay after ascertaining the defect, at the latest by the end of the warranty period. The buyer´s notice must be given in writing and must be duly corroborated with all the documents and essentials.
If the vehicle in which the Construct Group product was installed becomes immobile due to product defect, the buyer is obliged to contact the Construct Assistance Service at 800 194 100, where the essential service shall be provided. Breach of this duty on the part of the buyer has the consequence of demise of all buyer´s compensation claims, which may have arisen for him in connection with the usage of other assistance services.
All warranty and post-warranty repairs are provided directly by the manufacturer or through the network of authorised assembly organisations.
The product must be used only for the approved type of vehicle.
It is the duty of the buyer upon submission of a warranty claim to also submit a duly filled warranty card containing the confirmation of the regular annual product checks (this applies to five-year warranty), 2 keys and security code card. Without these essentials, the claim shall not be cleared.
When submitting a claim in respect of a product, the manufacturer reserves the right to check the state of the concerned product prior to final clearance of the claim.
You can get the Construct anti-theft device installed either at our sales-assembly centres in Prague or in Velké Meziříčí (contacts) or in your domicile by one of our authorised partners (link to selection of partners).
It is not possible to purchase a Construct product without professional assembly by trained technicians. Professional installation at an authorised service centre is a condition for warranty on the device.

Components of the Construct mechanical anti-theft device are 2 original keys and a security card that contains the code for manufacture of spare keys.
The replacement keys are ordered directly from Construct.
If you have a security card, we shall make the replacement key for you within 14 days. Additional information here. A replacement key cannot be provided in the absence of the security card. In this case, we recommend replacement of the entire device at a bargain price. Additional information here.
This is not possible without a security card. The SECURITY CARD contains the numerical code essential for production of the key and we do not keep a record of these codes for security reasons. It is therefore necessary to replace the entire Construct mechanical security device under bargain conditions. Additional information here.
